Ankara - The Capital
Ankara is the capital of Turkey. The city was founded in the 7th century B.C., at different times was known as Ancyra or Angora. In ancient times, it was the main city of the Roman province of Galatia, occupying the central part of Asia Minor. Later, the city went into decline, and in the early 20th century, had only 30 thousand inhabitants. But after World War II it had another greatness. Ankara became the place of the Grand National Assembly and Government of Turkey in 1920, as well as the capital - in 1923.
